From 3 to 6 October 2023, the Chemical Review Committee of the Rotterdam Convention is scheduled to convene for its 19th session in Rome, Italy. This meeting will be held consecutively with the 19th meeting of the Persistent Organic Pollutants Review Committee of the Stockholm Convention.
The Committee will discuss creating decision guidance documents for paraquat and methyl bromide at its 19th meeting. These two pesticides will be included in Annex III and be covered by the Prior Informed Consent (PIC) process once they have been accepted by the Conference of the Parties.
The Committee will also assess the following notifications to determine whether they should be subject to the PIC procedure and, as a result, be mentioned in Annex III:
