On April 14, 2025, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) launched a 60-day public consultation on the proposed harmonised classification and labelling (CLH) of cinnamaldehyde; 3-phenylprop-2-enal; cinnamic aldehyde; cinnamal (2E)-3-phenylprop-2-enal.
The CLH process aims to ensure consistent and transparent hazard communication for chemicals across the EU. It involves evaluating the substance’s hazards, proposing classification and labelling, gathering public input, and final assessment by ECHA’s Committee for Risk Assessment (RAC).
