The EU REACH-inspired Ukrainian Technical Regulation on Chemical Safety was passed by the Ukrainian government on July 23, 2024. Chemicals produced or imported in excess of one ton per year must be registered under this requirement. Six months after it was approved, on January 23, 2025, the regulation goes into force.
Registration Deadline
The final rule, which was revised from the draft released in April 2024, extends the time for chemical registration. The adjustments that have been put into effect are listed below.
January 23, 2026 is the date of the pre-registration deadline, which is significant for businesses. By streamlining the registration procedure, chemicals that are currently on the Ukrainian market will be able to continue operating while their complete registration is pending.

The postponement of Ukraine’s REACH registration deadline reduces the pressure for early compliance and promotes a seamless transition. Companies should actively participate in the regulation and be informed about rules as it becomes operative on January 23, 2025, to guarantee timely registration and strategic market positioning.
