Fluorinated Gas (F-Gas)

The EU's F-Gas Regulation (EU) 2024/573, applicable since March 2024, is the main tool to drastically cut powerful F-gas emissions, aiming for a complete HFC phase-down by 2050 to meet climate goals. Key features include accelerated HFC reduction via quotas, new bans on F-gas use in various products, stricter rules for leak prevention and gas recovery, a production cap for HFCs, and enhanced digital monitoring. This regulation impacts all manufacturers, importers, and operators of F-gases and related equipment within the EU.

F-Gas Services

F-Gas Compliance Strategy & Consulting

Guiding businesses on understanding the complex new regulation, its accelerated phase-down schedule, and developing tailored compliance roadmaps for HFCs.

HFC Quota Management Support

Assisting importers and producers with navigating the HFC quota system, including registration, authorization, and tracking quantities placed on the market.

Product-Specific Ban Assessment

Evaluating product portfolios to identify equipment or aerosols affected by new placing on the market and use bans and advising on compliance pathways.

Emission Prevention & Leak Management

Consulting on enhanced leak detection, repair, and record-keeping requirements for F-gas containing equipment.

Recovery, Recycling & Destruction Guidance

Advising obligations related to the proper recovery, recycling, and destruction of F-gases at end-of-life.

Alternative Refrigerant & Technology Transition

Providing expertise on identifying and transitioning to lower Global Warming Potential (GWP) alternatives or non-fluorinated technologies.

Reporting & Data Management

Supporting the compilation and submission of mandatory F-gas reports to the EU Commission (e.g., quantities produced, imported, exported, used).

Supply Chain Due Diligence

Assisting in verifying compliance of F-gas imports and ensuring legal sourcing to combat illegal trade.

Training & Capacity Building

Educating internal teams (e.g., engineers, procurement, sales) on the F-Gas Regulation's requirements and implications.

Number of equipment units assessed/registered for F-Gas

Global PCCS has assessed and registered over 1,000 F-Gas containing equipment units for our clients across various sectors, ensuring their compliance with the F-Gas Regulation.

02

Volume (tonnes of CO2 equivalent) of F-Gases reported/managed

We accurately managed the reporting of over 15,000 tonnes of CO2 equivalent F-Gases for our clients annually, fulfilling their mandatory reporting obligations.

03

Percentage of F-Gas leaks identified and repaired for clients

Through our proactive F-Gas leak detection program, 95% of identified leaks were successfully repaired for our clients, significantly reducing their environmental footprint.

04

Time saved for clients in F-Gas reporting/compliance

By centralizing F-Gas compliance with Global PCCS, clients typically save an average of 80-120 hours per year on administrative tasks related to F-Gas reporting and record-keeping.

05

Reduction in compliance risks (related to F-Gas)

Our expert F-Gas services contributed to an estimated 90% reduction in potential non-compliance fines and operational risks for our clients operating F-Gas containing equipment.

06

Number of F-Gas substitutions/conversions recommended/implemented

We successfully recommended and assisted in the implementation of over 50 F-Gas equipment conversions to lower-GWP refrigerants, helping clients phase out restricted substances.
