The updated Enforcement Ordinance of Japan’s Chemical Substances Control Law (CSCL), issued by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) on October 1, 2024, came into force on April 1, 2025. 2. Priority Assessment Substances (Format 12)

   • Key Info: Polymer classification, and details of manufacturing facilities required.
     
     
3. Monitoring/Class II Specified Substances (Format 13)
   
   • Threshold: ≥1 kg/year
     
   • Key Info: Must specify the category, report Class II content in products, and provide manufacturing site information.
     
     
4. Forecasts/Revisions for Class II Substances (Format 14)
   
   • Threshold: ≥1 kg/year (for projected or revised volumes)
     
   • Key Info: Content of Class II substances in products must be reported.
     

Common Reporting Requirements Across All Formats:

• Entity Details: Company name, address, corporate ID, and contact info.
  
• Substance Identification: Chemical name, CAS number, official designations, and reference codes.
  
• Quantitative Data: Manufacturing/import volumes, shipment totals, and usage breakdowns.
  
• Optional Attachments: Supporting documents like molecular structure or product composition.
