· During the 2023–2024 and 2024–2025 AICIS registration years, registrants who imported and/or manufactured any of the 522 PFAS compounds must submit specific information.

· EVA00204, an assessment on the introduction (import/manufacture) and usage of per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), has been started by the Executive Director of the Australian Industrial Chemicals Introduction Scheme (AICIS).

· 522 PFAS compounds that are registered in the Australian Inventory of Industrial compounds (AIIC) are the focus of EVA00204.

· To determine which chemicals should be the focus of additional investigation, the AICIS sent out a notice on October 14, 2025, requesting information from stakeholders regarding these PFAS compounds.

Who is responsible for providing PFAS information?

· The Executive Director will send a written notice by email by the next week to all introducers who enrolled with the AICIS Business Services Portal between September 1, 2023, and August 31, 2025.

· To determine whether they have introduced any of the 522 PFAS compounds on the list, they will analyse the list and notify AICIS of the situation.

· The necessary information must be provided for each chemical introduced by registrants who have introduced any of the specified PFAS.

What details on PFAS are needed?

The following details must be provided by each registrant:

· Whether any of the 522 listed PFAS compounds have been imported or manufactured in Australia by the registrant.

· The chemical’s name and CAS number, the manufacture or import method of introduction, the volume introduced overall, and the final use for any listed PFAS chemicals the registrant has introduced.

· For any information that the registrant is unable to disclose, the reason or reasons why they are unable to do so.

What is the deadline for submissions?

Within 40 working days following the notice date, the registrants must supply the necessary data.

Target compounds for PFAS

Details concerning the 522 PFAS chemicals, such as their CAS number, chemical name, assessment subject, etc., are now included on AICIS’s Rolling Action Plan for review (assessment ID: EVA00204).
