On July 28, 2025, the Australian Industrial Chemicals Introduction Scheme (AICIS) announced that four industrial chemicals have been officially added to the Australian Inventory of Industrial Chemicals (AIIC).
The inclusion, made under Section 82 of the Industrial Chemicals Act 2019, follows the expiry of the five-year period since the issuance of their assessment certificates. This update is part of Australia’s ongoing efforts to strengthen chemical regulation, ensure safe use, protect human health, and safeguard the environment.
AICIS stressed that chemical manufacturers and importers must strictly comply with all applicable legal provisions to ensure operations align with national safety standards. Through these regulations, AICIS aims to improve the efficiency of industrial chemical management while ensuring their use does not endanger the environment or public health.
