ROHS Compliance

On January 28, 2026, the Taiwan area of China's Ministry of Labor published a notification outlining the 2026 supplemental operation data reporting guidelines for priority-managed chemicals. The notification mandates that pertinent businesses handling particular chemicals complete the supplementing and reporting of extra operation data within the allotted time frame in compliance with Article 12 of the Regulations for the Designation and Operation Management of Priority-Managed Chemicals. This seeks to precisely evaluate and manage the exposure risks related to chemicals under priority management.

The notice states that this additional reporting is necessary for 2026 for a total of 20 substances that have been recognized by the Ministry of Labor. Pure compounds and mixes containing these chemicals at concentrations more than 1% by weight fall under this category. The Safety Data Sheet (SDS) is the extra operation data that must be submitted. The goal of this criterion is to improve risk assessment and safety management by gaining a more thorough understanding of the hazardous qualities and usage conditions of these substances.

According to the Ministry of Labor, by examining the 2025 reporting data for priority-managed chemicals, it has initially determined the list of pertinent operators. Direct notifications to qualified operators will be sent by email or official written documentation.

By March 31, 2026, operators who receive the notification must finish uploading and reporting the SDS files for the pertinent chemicals via the specified platform, adhering to the data format and procedure specified on the platform.
