India’s Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has issued three separate notifications temporarily suspending the Quality Control Orders (QCOs) for Linear Alkyl Benzene, Morpholine, and n-Butyl Acrylate. The suspension is valid for three months, during which both domestically manufactured and imported products are exempt from complying with the respective Indian Standards. As a result, requirements such as product testing and manufacturing facility audits will not be applicable for this period.
All three chemicals were earlier covered under Schedule II, Scheme I of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Rules, 2018, which mandated adherence to specified Indian Standards along with testing, audits, and the use of the Standard Mark.
